The Support Services teams within Group IT manage a number of enterprise level Business Systems servicing commercial subscribers from activation through to billing of my clients products. In addition the support of corporate applications is also provided to the business through these teams. Data provided through these business applications are used by a variety of internal users and systems providing for many needs ranging from specialised engineers to non-technical accounting staff. These downstream systems include the Network Management System for real-time alarming and performance monitoring, the Data Warehouse and Management Information Systems for commercial data analysis and network usage reporting. Externally, customers interface through these systems to achieve network provisioning of Voice, Data and advanced communication services. The Business Support Systems comprises of many applications communicating via an integration framework. This framework is the basis for interaction between CRM, Mediation, Network and Billing applications, utilising various transport mechanisms, such as SOAP, JMS etc. These components use ORACLE RDBMS for data management on Oracle Solaris OS and Oracle Linux running on SUN Oracle and Oracle Exadata infrastructure. The Business Systems comprises of various software modules, including: Rating & Billing: CSG Singleview v9, CSG InterconnecT v9, Vertex Customer Care: PeopleSoft CRM 9.1 Data ETL: Talend Data Services Platform 6.1.1 Network Mediation: Intermediate v7.0 Enterprise Application Integration: Apache Camel/Java Messaging Services Cloud Computing: Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated Prepay: Commerce Engine v8.0, Tango SCP, APEX IVR Responsibilities: * Manage system support issues from initiation, ownership through to resolution, liaising with the business functions to fully understand the issue. * Analyse any reported defects to understand the cause of the defect be it data, configuration or application software related. * Liaise with system developers and 3rd party suppliers for software defect resolutions. * Develop an understanding of the system its components and configuration including hardware infrastructure. * Develop an understanding of Inmarsat's business in order to be able to priorities defects in terms of impact to the business and its customers. * Assist with system development. * Assist with system testing. * Maintain and manage all support related administrative processes.
