This is probably a very controversial point. I know that there are many computer users out here that just hate to conform and would prefer to use ANY bit of kit other than any produced by Microsoft......but just a warning.
Many recruitment companies and employers ONLY use software produced by the computer giant.
This could mean that all the trouble you have taken over producing your well thought out CV could all be in vein if you have saved it in a format that cannot be accessed by a 3rd party.
To give you an example, I personally hate receiving CVs saved as a 'Works file'. Yes, I know that this is a Microsoft product, but how many modern, business computers have a copy of this installed rather than Word? I don't and i cannot believe that I am alone.
So my advice again would be to make it EASY for employers and recruiters to view you CV......if you want the masses to be able to access your information, publish it in a format that can be read by the masses. Simple really isn't it.
Good luck
